SafetyBook.org’s comment on BMW / Rolls-Royce Recalls

BMW recallrolls royce recall

MEDIA ALERT

“The recall of 200,000 BMWs and Rolls-Royces proves that no one is insulated from the dangers of faulty vehicles, no matter how expensive they are” said Dan Verakis, founder and CEO of SafetyBook.org, a new recall-monitoring service where consumers can register cars and other household items.  “There are about 600 vehicle recalls issued every year, leading to millions of dangerous cars and trucks on the road because people don’t realize their vehicle has been recalled.”

As far as vehicular recalls go, 2010 is a very active year thus far. In fact, according to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA), the total number of vehicles recalled during first 6 months of 2010 – 10.2 million – is about twice the number recalled during same period in 2009.
